와우, 정말 대단한 쑥쑥아이들...
5학년이라는 점을 감안하더라도 사용하고 있는 어휘나 표현력, 문장구성 능력이 정말 대단합니다. 거의 제가 손댈 곳이 없을 정도네요.^^
구둣점, 시제, 문법도 완벽하고 이야기의 흐름도 나무랄 데 없습니다.
여기서 더 바라고 싶은 점은 꾸준한 extensive reading 을 통한 더욱 완벽한 authentic English 의 구사입니다. 아마 지금까지도 많은 책을 읽어왔으리라 생각되는데요.
앞으로도 계속 책을 통해 더욱 발전하기를 기원할게요.^^
한 문장씩 읽어보고 말을 덧붙이자면....

사소한 스펠링 실수지요..? ^^
I went to Sam-Yuk university to take a test with mom.
I went to Sam-Yuk university to take a test with Mom.
mom 을 쓸 때는 my mom, 혹은 Mom 이렇게 크게 두가지로 이해하면 편합니다.
my 란 말이 빠지면 엄마라는 이름처럼 사용되기 때문에 고유명사처럼 대문자로 시작하지요.
꼭 엄마만이 아니라 거의 모든 영어단어가 그렇습니다.
동화에서 호랑이, 곰 등을 칭할 때에도 글 속에서 그게 이름처럼 불리워질때에는
대문자가 되지요.^^
We went there by taxi. We arrived 1 hour early.
The tesrt began at 12:00.
The test began at 12:00.
역시 사소한 스펠링 오류... 어쩌면 혜원이의 실수가 아니라 혜원맘님이 옮겨
타이핑을 해주시면서 실수 한건지도 모르겠네요.
At that time, I had butterflies in my stomach.
와우, 멋진 표현입니다. 대단한 혜원이!

역시 큰 실수는 아니지만 문맥상 시험 치기전에 생각하고 있던 부분이므로 과거완료
had thought 로 조금 수정했습니다.
However, adults could take it, too.
The inspector passed out test paper to everyone.
The questions were very hard.
별로 지적할 부분이 없네요. 짝짝짝!
Furthermore, that place's air was very hot and stuffy.
Furthermore, the air in that place was very hot and stuffy.
place's 처럼 무생물에 's 를 붙여 소유격을 만드는 표현은 좀 어색하답니다.
그래서 the air in that place 로 조금 바꿔봤어요.
In addition the sweat began to flow, and my face felt burning and it turned red.
To make matters worse(Moreover),
I became all of a sweat, and my face flushed red.
이 문장도 한국식 표현이 살짝 엿보이지요. 긴장을 해서 땀을 흘린다는 의미인것 같은데
sweat 이 flow 한다는 말보다 all of a sweat 같은 표현은 어떨까요?
그리고 문맥상 in addition 보다는 설상가상이라는 뜻의 To make matters worse나
Moreover가 더 어울릴 듯 해서 넣어 봤습니다.
마지막으로 얼굴이 상기되고 뜨거워졌다는 표현도 크게 틀리지는 않았지만 flush 라는
단어를 사용해서 문장을 만들어 봤구요.
Thirty minutes later, I was half way done.
역시 멋진 표현.^^
If I had more time, I would have gone to the end.
If I had more time, I would have fulfilled(completed) the test.
go to the end 라는 말은 어미가 약간은 부정적으로 들릴 수 있는 표현이라서
완성하다,끝을 내다라는 의미의 fulfill 이나니 complete 으로 바꿔보았습니다.
I'm really wondering if I will pass the exam.
I'm really worried about the result of the examination.
역시 무리가 없는 문장이지만 시험결과에 대해 궁금해하거나 걱정하다는 말은 worry about the result of the examination 이라는 말이 자주 쓰여서 그 표현을 써봤습니다.^^
