영어그림일기를 통해 쓰기의 감을 잡다. (2005.08.06) 유치원 방학을 계기로 다은이가 하루중 자기가 느꼈던 일을 쓰는 영어 그림 일기를 시작한지 보름이 지나가는 지금입니다. 한글 쓰기가 자유자재로 된 이즈음에 영어로 쓰기를 시도하는 것이아이에 부담감이 적은 듯 보입니다. 게다가 받아들이는 이해의 폭도 넓어지는 것 같구요.한글 쓰기하듯이 영어 그림 일기를 쓰면서 점차 철자에 대해 감도 잡아가는 것 같고 하루중의 느낌들을 자기가 표현하니 사고력이나 문장력도 조금씩 확장되어 가는 것 같습니다.일기쓰기가 점차 습관화되어가서 벌써 노트의 반을 채우게 되었답니다. 사실 무작정 쓰도록 시작한 것이 아니라 영어 동화 읽기를 연습하면서 읽고 나서 "이 책을 읽고어떤 생각, 어떤 느낌이 들었니?" 하고 아이에게 묻습니다. 그러면 아이가 주절 주절 답을 하더군요.그것을 아이로 하여금 아래과 같이 쓰도록 유도 한 것이지요. 물론 모르는 철자들은 가능한 음가를 통해 맞추어 나가게 했구요, 음가로 해결할 수 없는 철자들은 (ch나 th, ay같은) 읽었던 책을 다시 뒤져서 그 단어를 다시한번 읽어 보면서 쓰도록 했지요. 그랬더니 나름대로 그러한 철자들의 구조에 대해서도 틀이 잡혀가는 것이 보입니다. 쓰기를 시작하시려는 맘들께 조금이나마 보탬이 되었으면 합니다. The very hungry caterpillar를 읽고 나서When the caterpillar eats a lot, then the caterpillar will be fat. Sugar snow를 읽고 나서Actually the snow is not sugar. I think the sugar is made of candy. What a sweet sugar! The princess and the frog를 읽고 나서The princess didn't know that the green frog was a handsome prince. But the frog was a real prince. If I were a princess, I will never say that the frog is icky. 그림일기,,,Today is Tuesday.Today I am so happy. Because I made a new toy. So I was very glad. It is made with paper. 그림일기,,,Today is Thursday.Now I have a stomachache. So I feel bad. Because I ate some snack too much.So that is why I have a stomachache. So from now on I will never eat any snack a lot again.It is good for me to eat a little snack. 한 그림을 보고나서It's bedtime for baby. So mother is singing a song so that the baby can sleep well.And the baby can have a nice dream. So I wish mom could make me have a nice dream.그림일기,,Today I'm happy.Because I made a new dag.I like my own bag.Oh, I am so happy. And I'm going on a trip ,so that is why I made a bag. 그림일기,,,I was so glad when my Mom bought me some grapes.So I felt happy so much.The grapes were sweet. Any way I like grapes.Oh, I'm so happy.
