에릭칼의 The Tiny Seed는 문장이 긴편이라 아이들에게 선택되지 못하지만 엄마 욕심에 일찌감치 사서 책꽃이에 자리 차지를 하고 있는책입니다. 올 봄에는 책꽂이 차지만 하고 있는 이 책을 꺼내어 시도를 해 보았습니다. 본문을 다 읽어주면 애들이 도망가기 때문에 문장을 대폭 줄여서 읽어 주었습니다. 책과 함께 소품을 이용하여 아이들의 집중력을 높여 보았습니다.소품은 바로 자꾸자꾸 자라는 꽃입니다. 책 내용이 아주 작은 씨앗이 사람보다도 집보다도 커지는 내용이거든요. 
△ 1. 색도화지 두장을 가로로 한번 접어서 자릅니다. 그러면 4장이 되겠지요. 그 4장을 테이프로 연결하여 붙입니다. 
△ 2. 1에서 연결한 종이를 돌돌 맙니다. 
△ 3. 돌돌 만 종이릐 속을 손가락을 넣어 빼냅니다. 
△ 4. 빼낸 속 가장 안쪽에 종이꽃을 붙이고 줄기에는 나뭇잎을 붙입니다. 
△ 5. 책과 비교한 모습. 크기가 어느정도인지 가늠이 되시지요? 
△ 6. 돌돌만 종이의 안쪽을 잡고 쭉 빼내면 키가 쑥쑥 크는 꽃이 됩니다. 얼마나 커졌는지는 책과 사이즈를 비교하면 아시겠지요? 더 큰 꽃이 되기를 바란다면 색도화지를 한장 더 오려서 세장을 붙이면 됩니다. 두꺼운 색지보다는 얇은 것일수록 줄기가 가늘어서 좋습니다.
