SCHOLASTIC Hello Reader! Kindergarten-Grade 2 " Roller Skates! " 이 책은, Alice가 인라인 스케이트를 너무 좋아해서 산 책이랍니다. 아이가 관심을 가지는 분야가 있으면 무조건 관련 책을 삽니다. 그리고, 그 책의 레벨이 아니라, 아이의 레벨에 맞춰서 책을 읽어줍니다. 그럼, 100% 성공입니다. Alice는 이 책을 너무나 좋아한답니다. 이 긴 문장이 나오는 책을 읽다니.. Alice는 가만히 앉아서 하는 일을 잘 못한답니다. 그런 아이들 있죠? 그래서, 저는 앉은 자리에서 책 5권 읽는 아이가 그렇게 부러울 수가 없었답니다. Alice는 책 한권도 3page가 넘어가면, 딴짓을 한답니다. 그러니, 이 책이 무리라는 생각이 들 수 밖에요.. 그런데, 자기가 좋아하는 분야이다 보니, 이걸 다 읽는동안 딴짓을 안하더군요. Alice의 "한번 더 읽을래요!"라는 말에 제가 꽁무니를 빼기도 한답니다. # 책을 읽어주면서.. (책 본문) Early one morning in a small sleepy town, six trucks rumbled up and boxes came down. Sam Skipper called out as the trucks drove away, "Two boxes were all that I needed today!" He counted the boxes. There were fifty-two. He sat down and said, "Now what will I do?" Wow~! There are so many boxes. (와~ 박스가 많다.) Can you count them? (이걸 셀 수 있겠니?) 그럼, 세기 시작합니다. 아직 제대로 못하기 땜에 틀리게 세는 부분부터 같이 세기 시작합니다. Let's count them together. (같이 세 보자.) Soon an idea popped into Sam's head. He made up a sign and here's what is said: BIG SALE TODAY ON ROLLER SKATES! People came from far and wide. There were even people who never had tried to get around on roller skates. 그림속의 사람들을 하나하나 짚어주며 사람들의 행동들을 이야기합니다. He is falling over. (이 남자 넘어진다.) Alice:여자야! (자기 눈에 예뻐보이면 모두 다 여자랍니다.) Really? The Bensons were out for their afternoon stroll. Then they decided to go out and roll! The Bensons got four pairs of roller skates. 여기서는 네 마리의 고양이와 벤슨가족이 나옵니다. 이 페이지에서는 Alice 웃고 난리납니다. 왜냐구요? There are four kittens. (4마리 고양이가 있네.) They are in the roller skates. (롤러스케이트안에 있네.) What are they doing now? (지금 뭐하지?) I think, They all pee. (여기서부터 Alice 웃기 시작~ poo까지 나옵니다...) (내 생각엔 모두 쉬하고 있는거 같은데) Joe, the mail carrier, said, "Skates will be great! I can go fast, and the mail won't be late!" He delivered the mail on roller skates. Anna Lee knew what to do. 머리를 양쪽으로 따고 분홍색 원피스를 입은 소녀 등장~! Alice는 이 소녀가 본인이라고 우겨댑니다. Okay! Alice knew what to~~라고 읽어줍니다. What is she doing now? (뭐하고 있는거지?) She is dancing. (춤추네.) She is jumping over the box. (박스위를 점프하네) She is twirling. (빙글도네) Is she flying now? (Alice 너 나는거야?) She strapped on one. She strapped on two. She jumped and twirled on her roller skates. Pizza stays hot when you soar down the street. For delivering pizza, skates can't be beat! Watch out for Pete on his roller skates. Shopping for supper is no longer a chore. Martha fills up her basket as she zips through the store. It's fun to shop on roller skates. Sam, Sue, and Sal like how it feels when Mommy and Daddy take them out on wheels. Someday they will all go on roller skates! Be careful, Billy. Don't go too fast. Your ice-cream cone will never last. It's hard to eat ice cream on roller skates. Jordan' daddy drove to work in his car, even though his office was not very far. Now Daddy is cool on his roller skates. Jill's job walking dogs became a breeze. She rolled along the street with ease. The dogs pull Jill on her roller skates. Now in this lively town, all the people agree that life is as easy as it can be... when everyone rides on roller skates! # 책을 읽고 난 후 활동 중에서~ 1. Alice는 공원에 나가서 인라인을 직접 타는 것이 이 책과 관련된 가장 즐거운 활동이랍니다. 그리고, 2. 집에서도 인라인을 탑니다. Alice가 block을 꺼내 놀다가 그걸루 인라인을 탄답니다. 블록 2개씩 해서 처음엔 Roller skates를 타구요. 그리곤, 바퀴가 4개짜리 인라인스케이트를 타 봅니다. 아, 바퀴 4개라 자꾸만 태클이 걸리는군요. 스카치테이프로 간단히 2바퀴 감았습니다. 아, 이만하면 쓸만한 인라인이 되었습니다. 너무나 간단하죠? 근데, 자기가 개발한 인라인스케이트라 그런지 너무나 뿌듯해하며 즐거워합니다. 너무나 간단한 놀이인데, 아이들의 흥미를 끌만해 보입니다.. Alice~ I will put two blocks together with tape. (테이프로 블록2개를 붙여줄게) These are Roller Skates. I am so proud of you. (네가 자랑스럽구나.) Let's go around on a roller skates. (롤러스케이트를 타고 돌아보자.) This is In-line skates. (인라인 스케이트야.) Because the wheels are in a line. (바퀴들이 한 줄로 서 있잖아.) Wow~ You are such a good roller skater. (와~ 정말 잘 타네.)
