Hi guys! This is Dongha with your next worksheet. Are you guys excited? Here in America we celebrate a holiday called Halloween. It¡¯s on October 31st, and it¡¯s a day when everyone dresses up as someone or something they like! I remember when I was young I always dressed up as a superhero or an animal. When it gets dark, everyone goes trickortreating, which is where people go around to other people¡¯s houses and ask for candy. It¡¯s very fun! This week¡¯s book goes well with the Halloween theme.
The Wizard of Oz is about a lion, scarecrow, a tinman, and a girl named Dorothy who go on a mysterious but exciting quest. They meet a wizard and a witch on the way. A lot of people dress up as witches, wizards, scarecrows, lions, and much more on Halloween! I wish you could all experience how fun Halloween is. Do you celebrate it in Korea?
The homework this week has a total of three easy steps, and the homework format for the
upcoming weeks will be very similar.
1. The first step is to read The Wizard of Oz. Try to read it at least two times, once out loud
and once in your head.
2. Next, fill out the worksheet we posted. The worksheet has five parts. There is a
vocabulary, multiple choice, simple question, short answer, and a creativity section.
Make sure to go back to the book when finding some of the answers. The pictures may
help you remember what happened.
3. Take a picture of your worksheet and upload it.
This week, I want you guys to draw what you want to be for Halloween! Some good ideas are given in the book how cool would it be to be a lion for a day? You can choose to be anything you want. It can be a character from a game you like or even your own friends.
Make sure to have fun while filling out the worksheet! Oh, I forgot to mention that it¡¯s my
birthday today! I hope you all have a great week. I know I¡¯m going to have a wonderful one. We will see you next week, so keep working hard!
