Helloonce again. This is Dong-Ha. This week was Christmas in America. That meanslots of presents, good food, and time with the family. Christmas is obviously abig holiday in the U.S, but it isn¡¯t the only holiday that is celebrated aroundthis time. People also celebrate Kwanzaa and Hanukkah. Kwanzaa is an Africanholiday that starts on December 26 and ends on January 1. It is a time forAfrican-Americans to celebrate and spend time with their African heritage andculture. Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday that is celebrated in either lateNovember or early December. It is also known as the festival of lights and thisis when Jews light the menorah which is a special lamp that holds nine candles. And on each day they light one candle at a time.
Whetheror not your family celebrates Christmas, I hope you guys have a great holidayseason with your family. The book for this week is The Frog Prince and should be a familiar story. It¡¯s about a frogwho helps a princess and in return asks for the princess to do some things forhim. I won¡¯t spoil the end, but the frog isn¡¯t just a frog.
Havefun reading this book and the instructions are the same as always.
