1. About whom is this book written and why is this person significant enough to have a book?
This book is about ¡°Thomas Alva Edison¡±.
He makes some light bulb, the first movie camera, phonograph and a lot of other things, too.
I think Edison has a few sleep. Because he need to make many things.
2. What section of the book made the strongest impression on you? Why?
I am impressed on making a phonogragh. Because I think record and play back someone¡¯s voice is very difficult to make. And light bulb is to easy, because some people made light bulb, he gust make perfact. So I think phonogragh is best of his things.
3. Write about his early life as a child. How is his life different from yours?
When Thomas Edison was about seven, his family moved from Milan, Ohio, to Port Huron Michigan.
Thomas sold newspapers, candy, and fruit to passengers at train.
But I don¡¯t sold things at train.
When I was 10 years old, my family moved from Daegu to Seoul.
4. Has your reading of the book helped your further interest in this person? Why or why not?
This book helped me further interest in this person.
I am very interested in Thomas Alva Edison. More than before reading this book.
I think he is the best inventor.
When he is young, I think he make blueprint of his inventions, so he doesn¡¯t study at school.

Thomas daydreamed a lot. I did not.

No.Because my dream is biologist.

EDISON is a great inventor with a lot of bright ideas.
He came up with more then 1,000 inventions.
For example, light bulb.and phonograph, first movie camera.
2. What section of the book made the strongest impression on you? Why?
In 1931, this great inventor died at the age of 84.
As a tribute to him, lights were turned off all across the United States
For one minute on the night of his funeral.
3. Write about his early life as a child. How is his life different from yours?
Edison teacher thought he was stupid.
But his mother knew her son was smart.
He lovesed books about science.
But I hate books about science.
Because it¡¯s boring. I lovestory books.
4. Has your reading of the book helped your further interest in this person? Why or why not?
Yes. Edison make light bulb perfectly and long-lasting.
He built the first move studio and even made his own films.
Through this book I knew about EDISON further.


1. This book is about Thomas Alva Edison. And he was a genius!
He was talented and had lots of amazing idea. With that, he made light bulbs, phonograph, movie
cameras, and lots of other things too. That is the reason he is significant enough to have a book.
2. I was impressed at Edison worked SO hard at making the light bulb. I read he tested thousands of
filament, and that took over a year! I thought it was easy to finding the right filament.
But now I know it is a very hard job.
Also, I was impressed that he had a sence of humer. I thought he was always serious person.
But, I think Edison's joke is dangerous. Someone could get hurt! If I were Edison, I would rather
pour flour on them.
3. When Tomas Edison was about seven, his family moved to Port Huron. He started school in Port
Huron. But he daydreamed a lot, and he had some serious ear infections that left him almost deaf.
So Mrs. Edison taught him at home. I think Mrs. Edison thought a little worried about Tomas, but
kept on encourge him and taught Tomas very much.
4. I am very interested in Tomas Edison now. Before, I had known Edison no more than a guy making
light bulbs. But now, after reading this book. I knew a lots of things about Edison.
