찾아보니 본 시는 Children Won't Wait 이라는 아주 긴 시로군요.

그 가운데 한 연이었어요.

영어로 읽는 재미가 다르네요.

I pray there will be a time to see him an upright and an honest man, loving God and serving all.
God, give me the wisdom to see that today is my day with my children.
That there is no unimportant moment in their lives.
May I know that no other career is so precious,
No other work so rewarding,
No other task so urgent.
May I not defer it nor neglect it,
But by the Spirit accept it gladly, joyously, and by they grace realize
That the time is short and my time is now,
For children won't wait!

프린트해서 냉장고에 붙여 놓고,

아침 준비하기 전 한번 씩 읽어야 겠네요.

내게 귀한 자녀 보내 주심에 감사하고,

귀한 자녀들 돌보는 일을,

하루하루 기쁘고 즐겁게 받아들일 수 있도록

기도하면서.

어젯밤엔 갑자기 아들 나이가 생각나더라구요.

울 아들이 몇 살이지?

벌써 열 여섯살이네!

곧 스물.

세월이 너무 빠르네요.

아직은 엄마 엄마하고 항상 내 옆에 머물지만,

님의 글처럼 아이들은 마냥 기다리지만은 않을 거라는걸.

생각했답니다.

괜히 기분이 울적ㅠㅠ
