Mama, Do You Love Me? by Barbara M.Joosse 내용을 제목을 봐도 알수 있듯이 아이가 엄마에게 자신을 사랑하는지를 묻는 내용이다... 처음에는 아이에게 사랑이란 의미를 좀 세겨주기 위해 관심을 가졌었는데... 지금은 내가 젤 좋아하는 책이다.... 우리 빈이에게 책을 읽어 주면서 "Bean Do you love me?" 하고 물으면 빈이는 "엄마 사랑해? Do you love me?" 라고 내가 듣기에는 반문을 한다.... 얼마전에는 "엄마 사랑해..Yes I do" 하는데 정말이지 눈물이 날것만 같았다... 왜? 1. 내말을 알아들어서? 2. 영어를 알아들어서? 3. 영어로 대답해서? 물론 모두다이지만, 젤 맘에 드는건 날 사랑한다해서(?)이다... 하하하 책이 페이퍼 북이라 싫어하는 이도 있겠지만 ,, 빈이정도의 월령의 아이라면 비싼 보드북 보다는 이것이 그림면에서도 훨씬 더 영향력이 있는듯하다... 알래스카의 이야기인듯한데... 우리가 모르는 Puffin(섬새의 일종), Umiak(에스키모의 배),Ptarmigan(뇌조)..등----2 에스키모인의 귀여운 여자아이는 우리 빈이가 좀더 크면 이렇게 변했으면 좋겠을 만큼 깜직하다... 그에 비해 엄마는 덩치가 엄청 좋고 얼굴은 .....낯설지 않은 모습이다... 솔직히 우리의 일상을 보는 듯해서 더 좋은 이책의 내용을 시작해야겠다... Mama, do you love me? Yes I do, Dear One. How much? I love you more than the raven loves his treasure, more than the dog loves his tail, more than the whale loves his spout. How long? I'll love you until the umiak flies into the darkness, till the stars turn to fish in the sky, and the puffin howls at the moon. Mama, what if I carried our egg- our ptarmigan egg- and I tried to be careful, and I tried to walk slowly, but I fell and the eggs broke? Then I would be sorry. But still, I would love you. What if I put salmon in your parka, ermine in your mittens, and lemmings in your mukluks? Then I would be angry. What if I threw water at our lamp? Then, Dear One, I would be very angry. But still, I would love you. What if I ran away? Then I would be worried. What if I stayed away and sang with the wolves and slept in a cave? Then, Dear One, I would be very sad. But still, I would love you. What if I turned into a musk-ox? Then I would be surprised. What if I turned into a walrus? Then I would be surprised and a little scared. What if I turned into a polar bear, and i was the meanest bear you ever saw and I had sharp, shiny teeth, and I chased you into your tent and you cried? Then I would be very surprised and very scared. But still, inside the bear, you would be you, and I would love you. I will love you, forever and for always, because you are my Dear one. 아이의 천진스러운 표현이 그대로 살아 있는것 같다... 그래서 이책에대한 애착이 더 가는지 모르겠다... 빈이는 아이가 계란을 떨어뜨리는 장면을 유심히 본다... 아마 자기가 저랬으면 엄마가 어떻게 했으리라는 기대감 때문인것 같다... 아마 나같았으면 어떻게 했을까? 내가 좋아하느 대목은 아이가 소와 물개와 부극곰으로 변했을때의 엄마의 대답이다.. 짧은 실력으로의 느낌은 "그 안에 여전히 네가 있으니까 난 너를 사랑한다"라는 표현이 나를 감동하게 했다... 이런 표현들은 우리 아이에게 지금이 아주 좋게 작용할 시기인것 같다.. 그래서 다들 엄마들이 책을 읽으며 그표현들은 외워 아이와 함께 사용하는것이 가장 좋은 방법이라 하는것 같다...
