어젯밤에 작년 9월 새학기 부터 방과 후 활동으로 하여 온 스카웃에서 마지막 파티를 했다. 새 학기가 되면 아마도 함께 했던 많은 아이들이 화요일에 다시 모일것 같다. 여전히 비버로.
Beavers(Age 5 to 7 years) started in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and the program was approved by the National Council as a three year experiment in May, 1972. It became an overnight success prompting Scouts Canada to adopt it as an official program in 1974. Since that time, many other countries have modeled similar programs after our Beaver program.
The Beaver Program stems from the book FRIENDS OF THE FOREST, written specifically for Beavers. The book describes how the Jones family have “come to live in the clearing along the river bank” and how they quickly become aware of their new neighbors, a colony of beavers that also live along the river bank. The story illustrates how the beaver colony observes the Jones family, giving them names and then eventually how the beavers meet the members of the Jones family, mom, dad and their three children.
6월이 오자마자 서서히 모든 것들을 정리하는 단계로 들어간다. 조금은 섭섭하다. 그러나, 이런 시간 속에서 아이들은 또 퍽퍽 커 가는것 아닐까?
작년에 이어 올해도 남자다워지라고~아니, 솔직히 좀 얌전해지고,단체가 뭔지,사회가 뭔지 좀 알았으면...그리고 노는 것도 좀 제대로 배우라고...이런 저런 욕심의 종합 선물 셋트겸인 비버에 올해도 다녔다. 작년과 요일을 달리하여 등록했더니 확실히 선생님에 따라 아이가 받는 함께하는 것들이 많이 다르다. 작년은 실내 위주의 수업이 많았다면 이번 화요일 수업은 야외 수업이 많았다. 아빠들의 참여도도 높아 늘 든든했다. 날고 뛰는 아들놈을 들판에 풀어놓아도 불안하지않았다..ㅎㅎ

정부에 속한 비행장을 운영의 어려움 때메 개인에게 넘겨졌고, 지금은 오히려 더 잘 관리되고 있는 동네 근처의 비행장이다. 비행기와 이륙 착륙..등등을 설명 해 주시는 비행장 주인. 심심찮게 경비행기가 날으는 모습을 집 앞에 나서면 자주 보게 된다. 그리고 곧 비행기가 집 앞에 내려 집으로 바로 들어가는 개인 주택을 짓는 작업에 들어간다고 한다. 허걱,존트라볼타 같은 주택을 가질 사람들이 오타와에도 있나봐...

또 다른 5월엔...로켓 만들고 날리기!
만들지는 않았지만 가장 큰 로켓을 날리는 영광을. 사실 욕심이 없어서 당첨된 것임. 다른 아이들은 발사 후 땅에 떨어지는 로켓 본체를 잡으려고 이미 들판으로 떠났거든요^*^
6월에 마지막 파티를...
Based on some deep discount rates at Karters Korners that start June 1st, we have decided to have our potluck party on Tuesday June 2nd from 5:15pm to 7pm. We will provide laps in the go-karts, or kiddie cars, plus mini-putt and hot dogs! Just Beavers and parents is fine. If you wish to bring any other food or treats that’s great too!
버버인 아들 보다도 안 비버인 남편이 더 좋아하고 있음..ㅋㅋ
