오늘은 또 다른 블루 비디오 Blue's safari의 첫번째 이야기 'What animal could Blue want to learn about?'을 소개해 드리겠습니다. 몇몇 동물들의 생활양식(behavior) 를 이해하고 동물들 울음소리와 동작을 관찰하며 따라해 볼 수 있습니다. 1.Giant anteater eats ants. It lives in the rain forest. It has a long hairy snout for digging inte holes,and a long tongue for eating stuff. 우리에겐 다소 생소하지만 영어권 나라에서는 흔한 동물인지 개미핥기라는 동물이 처음으로 소개되어 나옵니다. 이 비디오에서는 새로운 동물이 나올 때마다 'Let's look it up'하며 동물 대백과 사전을 펼쳐 찾아봅니다. 2. An elephant takes great, big giant steps. 집에 갖고 계신 코끼리 인형이나 코끼리가 나오는 그림책을 꺼내놓고 맘들께서 직접 다소 과장된 큰 행동으로 코끼리의 걸음걸이를 흉내내어 주세요. 3. Bears go in their caves to sleep. 곰들이 동굴안으로 들어가는 건 잠을 자기 위한 것이라는 설명을 해줘야겠죠? 4. Beavers pick up sticks to build a house. A bluebird is singing to talk to the other bird. Tweet tweet. 비버(해리)와 파랑새의 behavior를 익히도록 도와주세요. 5. A frog is hopping and croaking. Wee sing Train에도 나오는 마법에 걸려 개구리로 변한 왕자의 얘기를 해주시면 어떨가요? 6. Monkeys are picking bugs out of each other. Polar bears live in the north pole in the cold weather. Sea lions have outside ears. 가까운 동물원에 아이 손을 잡고 나들이 하셔서 원숭이,북극곰,강치 등을 직접 보여주시면서 울음소리를 듣게 하시고 간단한 설명을 듣게 해보세요. 간접경험보단 훨씬 큰 자극이 되어 피부로 느끼며 받아들일 수 있어요. 7. Let's go on an expdition to learn about fish in the bottom of sea. Let's learn about camouflagea fish. (위장술을 이용한 물고기들의 처세술을 알아보자.) A leaf fish is brown and scaly. It hides in the leaves to protect itself from big fish. A rock fish is grayish. It hides in the rocks to catch and eat little fish. A parrot fish is so coloful. It hides in the bubbles. It makes a hiding place all by itself. 맘들이 직접 물고기 그림을 그려 (같은 모양에 색깔만 다르게 해서 표현해보세요.) 카드처럼 만들어 한 장씩 꺼내들며 설명해주세요. 8. A penguin is a black and white animal that lives on ice and waddles. Penguins live in antarctica, their feathers are like a coat. They use wings as a flipper, so they can swim. 뒤뚱거리는 걸음걸이때문에 더 우리 아이들의 사랑을 받는 펭귄입니다. 각 동물별로 비교적 간단한 문장으로 풀어 반복해 설명해 주시면서 퀴즈형식으로 (의문문 사용) 어떤 동물인지 알아맞추기 놀이를 해보시면 좋을 듯 싶습니다.
