알에서 거의 동시에 깨어난 아기오리와 병아리의 짧은 동행기(?) 인 The chick and the duckling 으로 놀이를 해 보았어요. 한글판으로도 나와 있다고 하던데 그림도 예쁘고 아이가 좋아하는 오리랑 병아리가 나오니까 무척 좋아하네요. 우선 엄마닭과 엄마오리가 알을 품으면 그 속에서 병아리와 아기오리가 나온다는 걸 보여 주려고 볼풀공을 이용해서 알을 만들었어요. 알은 볼풀공을 가운데 지그재그로 자르고 아기오리와 병아리를 미리 넣어놨어요. 꽃밭과 호숫가는 아이랑 찍기 놀이로 만들어 봤구요 모래마당은 미리 벌레모양으로 구멍을 뚫고 도화지에 풀을 칠해서 모래를 부어서 만들어 봤어요. 아이에게 직접 땅을 판다는 느낌을 주고 싶어서요. 근데 모래가 사르르 떨어져서 그 위에 투명시트지를 붙였답니다. 책을 다 읽고 나서도 아쉬워 하는 것 같아 작은 허리끈을 만들어 "이제부터 소희가 엄마오리니까 알을 품어야 해" 하고 말해줬더니 하루종일 엄마오리와 알을 달고 있네요. 소희 look at this. what do you see? there are mommy hen and mommy duck. what are they doing? they sit on eggs. oh, what is happening? mommy hen and mommy duck followed the butterfly. Crack what sound? the duckling is born! Crack, crack, crack!! The chick is born. 본문 부분은 그냥 책에 있는 그대로 읽어 주면서 활용해답니다. a duckling came out of the shell. "i am out!" the duckling said. "me too," said the chick. "i am taking a walk," said the duckling. "me too," said the chick. "i am digging a hole," said the duckling. "me too," said the chick. "i caught a butterfly," said the duckling. "me too," said the chick. "i am going for a swim," said the duckling. "me too," said the chick. "i am swimming ," said the duckling. "me too," cried the chick.(저희 꼬마는 이 부분은 아직 이해를 잘 못한답니다.) the duckling pulled the chick out. "i am going for another swim," said the duckling. "not me." said the chick.
