치과에 오는 아이들 한번도 치료 받아 본적이 없는데도 하나같이 치과는 무서운 곳이란 선입견을 가지고 오네요. 그런 선입견은 부모로부터 때론 읽어본 동화책에 의해 갖게 되는 것으로 보여요. 시중에 나와 있는 동화 중에는 오히려 악영향을 주는게 더 많은듯 싶네요. 제목부터 무시무시 해서 가기 싫게 만드는거요. 치과에서 추천하는 좋은 동화는 0~4세 사자는 이를 닦을까? 호랑이는 치과에 갈까? 5~7세 치과의사 드소토 선생님 호랑이도 치카치카 악어도 치카치카 충치 도깨비 달달이와 곰곰이 이빨 요정 등이 있고 치과 치료에 대한 거부감이 없어진 후에야 읽히는게 좋은 것으로는 (사실은 비추천인데 출판사에서 뭐라 할거 같아서....) 치과에 사는 괴물 열무는 치과가 너무 무서워 이가 빠졌어요. 흡혈귀 루디 치과는 정말 싫어 등이 있네요. 질문 하신 분은 영어로 된 동화를 원하시는 것 같은데 치과의사 드소토나 이빨 요정은 내용도 좋아요. 그러나 아이가 이제 돌이 지난 거라면 너무 빠르군요. 대신 영어 노래를 불러 주세요. 그리고 인형을 이용해 예쁜 칫솔로 아이 스스로 인형에게 칫솔질 하게 해주는 것도 좋아요. 영어 동요로 마무리 할께요.. 제목은 “Old Mcdonald Had a Farm" 입니다.
