큰애(8세)가 4월부터 영어 과외를 주 2회로 받고 있어요.
45분 주교재 + 15분 writing을 하고 있어요.
처음 writing을 진행할때 아이가 좋아하는 책을 바탕으로 다양한 글쓰기를 하도록 유도해달라고 부탁했어요.
왜냐하면 저희 아이는 쓰는것 자체를 그리 좋아하지 않아서 자칫하면 흥미를 잃을까 염려가 되었거든요.
그래서 아이가 좋아하는 Mighty robot, parts, In a dark dark story 등을 중심으로
간단한 graphic organization (time line, compare & contrast, like & dislike, character-setting-topic)을 하면서 글쓰기의 기초를 다져왔어요.
그런데 약 1달전부터 아이가 주제를 정해서 글을 쓰기 시작하더군요.
평소 괴물, 유령, 공포물에 열광하던 녀석이라서 제목은 Scary story이고,
내용은 무서운 이야기와 영화 Monster house를 모방해서 적었더군요.
아직 스펠링도 정확하지 않아서
자기가 말로 지어내면 선생님이 화이트보드에 적어주시고
다시 그것을 노트에 옮겨적는 형식으로 하고 있어요.
그래서 아마 사소한 문법이나 표현(어려운 단어)은 선생님이 도와주셨을거라고
추측됩니다. (제가 없을때 과외를 해서 정확히는 잘 몰라요)
아이만의 100% 창작물이면 좀 더 자랑스러울텐데
선생님의 supervision하에 지어낸 이야기란것을 감안하고 읽어주세요~
(참! 저희 아이 영어이름이 David 이랍니다)
<Scary story>
There was a boy named David,
One day, he got lost in the woods,
and he found a haunted house.
He went to inside.
He heard a rustling noise!
He stopped and the noise stopped too.
He moved again....
He heard the noise again!
He stopped again.
He knew the sound was his footsteps,
so he wasn't afraid.
He went into the room.
He saw a skeleton!
He was afraid that he was ready to run away,
but the door wouldn't open.
So he yelled "Let me out!"
He stomped his feet.
Suddenly, the door opend and
David flew across the room
and fell right into the skeleton.
He jumped up and ran out of haunted house.
Outside the house,
there was a graveyard.
David saw a head...
but it wasn't attatched to a neck!
A body with no head held it in it's hand.
It was a ghost.
David shot his gun at the ghost.
The ghost's skin fell all over the ground.
Then... there was nothing.
David ran all through the forest.
Suddenly, the ground came up like a slide,
and he slid all the way back to the haunted house.
David looked at the house
and saw the lights go on in two windows.
The door opend.
Wooden spikes came out of the ground.
The carpet came out of the door like a tongue.
The haunted house was a monster!
David ran. The carpet tongue tried to catch him!
Suddenly the tongue stopped
because it couldn't go any farther.
David ran across the woods...
but suddenly the trees moved!
A tree caught David.
The tree gave David to another tree.
That tree handed him to another.
They took him all the way back to the monster house.
The last tree threw David into the house!
Suddenly the monster house became quiet.
It was a regular haunted house again.
