"북미아이들은 이러구 놀아요"라는 제목으로 올리신 이슬구슬맘님의 글입니다.
맞는진 모르지만 아이들이 과학실험을 하는... 제일 먼저 떠오른 글입니다.
아마 희서맘님도 설탕물 녹이기 희서와 해봤었다는 리플이 있더군요..
우선은 맞는지 모르겠고 올려봅니다.
다른분 급하신것 같은데 기억나는 게시글 있으면 부탁드려요~~
PBS Curious George 홈페이지의 비디오 클립(방송을 보고 아이들이 활용한 것)을 퍼왔습니다. 짧지만 많습니다. 이슬이는 특히, 썰매, 구슬 굴리기, 댐 만들기를 좋아하더군요. 원어민 아이들의 육성을 들을 수 있어 좋습니다. 맨 아래에는 특별 보너스로 이슬이의 활용기... ^^
이게 한 줄로 밖에 복사가 안 되더라구요. 코드를 고치기가 너무 귀찮아서 걍 길게 올립니다.

100's Day (뭐든지 100까지 하는 날) 오늘은 1편. 바로바로~~~ (이슬이 말투)
What Dissolves?
George is a monkey. So he can do things that we can't do.
조지는 원숭이에요. 그래서 우리가 하지 못하는 걸 할 수 있죠.
He puts lots of crazy things in the water.
이상한 것들을 물에 넣어요.
Look out, George. That's hot.
T: We're gonna learn about which materials dissolve in liquid.
어떤 물질이 액체에 용해되는지 배우겠어요.
G1: What does dissove mean? 용해가 무슨 뜻이에요?
G2: It disappears inside water. 물 속에서 녹아 없어진다는 뜻이에요.
T: So when things are dissolved they pass into the solution.
어떤 것이 용해되면 그것이 용매에 섞여 들어간다는 뜻이죠.
And so it kind of just looks like it disappears into the liquid.
그래서 액체 안으로 사라지는 것처럼 보여요.
Which of the things at your table are able to dissolve in the water?
상에 있는 것 중 어느 것이 물에 용해될 수 있을까요?
G2: This is sugar and I think it's gonna disslove.
이건 설탕인데요. 제 생각엔 이게 용해될 것 같애요.
B1: I think it's not going to dissolve.
저는 용해되지 않을 것 같아요.
Yeap!
It dissolved. 녹았다.
Okay.
G2: White sugar did dissolve. 흰 설탕은 녹았어요.
So that one person that said it didn't dissolve was wrong.
그러니까 녹지 않는다고 말했던 사람이 틀렸어요.
B1: This is cornmeal. 이것은 옥수수 가루에요.
G2: I think it's not gonna dissolve. 제 생각엔 용해되지 않을 것 같애요.
B1: I think it is gonna dissolve. 저는 용해될 것 같아요.
G2: It falls like it's snow. 눈 내리는 것처럼 떨어진다.
B1: I don't think it's cranky. (??)
G2: It doesn't dissolve. 'Cause it's too hard and a lot too big.
옥수수 가루는 용해되지 않아요. 왜냐면 너무 딱딱하고 크거든요.
Somethings dissolve, somethings don't disslove.
어떤 것을 용해되고, 어떤 것은 용해되지 않는답니다.
[즉석활용]
Let's carry out the experiment.
This is brown sugar.
Is it gonna dissolve?
- Yes.
I'll put one spoon of brown sugar into the water.
You stir it.
Did it dissolve?
This is smashed sesame.
Is it gonna dissolve?
Let's find out.
Did it dissolve?
- No.
Salt. Salt.
Yeah. How about salt? Is it gonna disslove?
I think it dissolved.
But why it's not transparent?
What do you think of that?
Because minerals in salt make it look misty.
