Thomas Edison was born on February 11, 1847, in the United States. He was one of the greatest inventors in history.
As a young child Edison lost his hearing and had a learning difficulty.
But he was full of curiosity and loved to try out new ideas.
Edison always concentrated deeply on his experiments.
Eventually, he made more than 1,000 inventions that improved our life.
One of his inventions was the phonograph.
It helped people communicate better.
He also invented the electric light bulb that we use today.
He believed in the importance of making science practical and useful to people.
Edison¡¯s inventions changed people¡¯s lives very much.
One of his favorite sayings was, ¡°Genius is one percent inspiration, and 99 percent perspiration.
