1.Look at below picture and just imagine a girl¡¯s situation.
Does she look happy? If not, why?
I think she is unhappy because she looks sick.
I think she has a fever because she has a thermometer in her mouth.
And I can see that she is holding a doll.
Maybe the doll that she is holding is one of her favorite doll and she brought it in the hospital to make her feel better when she is sad.
I hope she gets better early and soon.
2. #4
If you¡¯re very sick, you might even have to be hospitalized, no matter how you feel. Whn you¡¯re in a hospital you should listen to grown-up¡¯s. But you can ask some questions you want to know. After getting some good answers from them, you could feel more comfortable. What kinds of questions would you ask? Read #4 and find the answers. If you have better questions of your own, you can write them.
Why do I have to take that medicine?
Why do I need to stay in bed?
When can I get up and play again?
Why can¡¯t I go to school?
4. #13
Her name is Jessica. She is an 8-year-old girl. She has stayed the hospital over 2 years. She couldn¡¯t go to school because she was very sick. Actually she got a cancer on her blood cells. When she felt terrible pain, she was even hard to breathe. Except the painful time, she is generally happy. She has many friends who are a little bit different with ours such as nurses, doctors and sick children like her. One day, a happy news was coming. Next month, she can leave this hospital. Her doctor said that she is almost cured! She is expecting the exciting school life!!
Let¡¯s write a letter to Jessica. She¡¯ll be happy to receive letters from Korean friends!
Dear Jessica
Oh!! You got a cancer on your blood cells?
You must have had a hard time to endure.
I think you are very active and positive because even in the hospital you had many friends
and also because you were generally happy except the painful time.
I¡¯m happy to hear the good news about you.
I hope you have exciting and happy school life after a month.
